Didonato continued...

Well, I just can't say enough about Joyce lately, I guess you can tell I am pretty much completely and totally obsessed with this DIVA!!!  So, cool thing today.  Joyce and I are both Aquarians, born literally 5 years and 10 days apart, to the day!  Remarkable.  I am February 3 and she is February 13.  I already told you about my "strange" Kansas connection with her.  So, before I went to bed last night, when I found her magnificent husband Leonardo, I realized that he not only conducts some of the more obscure operas of Bellini, Rossini, Haydn, etc., not your typical Handel conductor.  I like that a lot, and even more, this wunderkind is Opera Director of 3 houses, one in France (no, not Paris, or even Lyon, but probably some incredible charming village with a great house!), and one in Omaha and Colorado Opera!  I almost fell over!!!  I am moving to Denver in January, and had joked with my best friend in New York City (who is going with me to see Joyce at Carnegie Hall on November 4 in recital and singing Hahn!!!  For any of you who don't know, Hahn wrote some of, or in my opinion, the best beautiful French art songs, other than the Tales of the Auvergne (at least my opinion).  I sang Hahn in college, even dusted it off and played "Paysage" for myself on my 1925 Steinway L series grand, and did pretty well on my French diction.  So, if I am in Denver, and Leonardo directs and conducts operas that are perfectly suited to my voice, would I go sing some small role in Omaha?  Heck yeah!  I could drive there from Denver, where he directs the whole Enchilada!  I am in heaven!  Have a great night opera fans around the globe, keep the faith, light workers need to step it up!!!  Best, Mark
